Supplies Needed
PSP I used version 9
1 Image of choice
1 Scrapkit
Filters Unlimited 2.0
Eye Candy 4000
2 Fonts of choice-I Used
Broadway BT (Misfit Text)
Victorian LET (name)

Ok Let's get started
Step 1
File / New / 596x 246 Color: Transparent back
Res. (72) Click OK
Open paper 11
Activate Tool: Selection
Select the middle part of the paper / Edit / Cut
Paste / Paste As New Layer on the working canvas
Effects / Filters Unlimited 2.0 / Color Booster
settings: Boost Factor (175)
Open the following: Rainbow, Flowertrail and Frame4
Copy / Paste / Paste As New Layer on the working canvas
give a name to each layer if you like-we will return back
Position, look at my result for each location
and apply the same effect / settings above
Activate Tool: Deform
use the middle turn handle to turn the frame clockwise
Step 2
Open your Tube
Position the tube 'as Top layer' in the center of the frame
Layers Palette:
Highlight the Frame layer
Activate Tool: Freehand Selection
Select the part of the Frame that is behind your Tube
Note: Left click to start-left click as you go along-meet back to where you
started-right click to release
You should now see marching ants and a window appear
Select Cut (right click again on the header of the canvas,
if the window did not appear)
or choose Edit / Cut
Right click on the canvas header / Paste / Paste As New Layer
Layers / Arrange / Bring to Top
Use the Move Tool to position the cut-out back in place / Selections
Select None
Layers Palette:
Highlight the Tube layer and Activate tool: Eraser
Choose a setting size for the eraser
erase any of the Tube that's still outside of the frame
(we mainly did all this to have the rainbow shoot through the frame)
Open and Apply these elements to the canvas:
Swing (Image / Mirror) and Doodle
Resize Doodle (70%)
mark (smart resize) Click OK
Position all in place
Step 3
Layers Palette:
Highlight Layer: Doodle
Effects / 3D Effects / Inner Bevel
Apply settings below:
Effects / Filters Unlimited 2.0 / Invert Lightness / Keep Color (repeat X1)
Effects / Eye Candy 4000 / Glass
Apply settings below:
Step 4
((Misfit Font))
Open paper 2 background
Materials Palette: Use the Droppler and change the Foreground and Background color
Foreground Prop.: Select a color from your tube that you want to use
(lighter color) I choose (#feaae3)
Background Prop.: Select the color from the paper 2 background
not the white poka dot (LOL)
Note: This pattern will be in your TEXT
Activate Tool: Color Replacer
Preview of the Color difference below
Color Replacer Settings Below
Left click-holding down-drag in a round motion
watch and see the color replacement
For the Font / Locate your font (Broadway BT) and set at size of 48
Layers / Convert to Raster Layer / Position the Text Misfit on the swing
Layer Palette:
Hide all layers except for the text layers
Material Palette:
Click on Background Prop.
Choose the tab (Pattern) use the arrow to scroll down-find the (paper 2)
Settings: Angle (0) Scale (100) Click OK
Effects / 3D Effects / Drop Shadow
Settings: V (-2) H (2) Opacity (100) Blur (0.00) Color (Black)
--->Make sure you mark (Shadow on new layer)
this is located right below the color box
Repeat Drop Shadow until you get a 3D Look (X3)
Layer Palette:
Hide Top Text Layer / Highlight Top Shadow Layer
Layers / Merge / Merge Visible
While on Merged Shadow Layer
Activate Tool: Magic Wand
Hold shift key down as you select all the Text
Activate Tool: Flood Fill
Click inside the text-with a choice of color (Foreground color)
While the text is still with marching ants
use the Move tool to slightly move top text layer left and up
Selections / Select None
Layer Palette:
Highlight the Top Merged Text layer
Layers / Merge / Merge Visible
Effects / Eye Candy 4000 / Glass
Settings Below
(Optional) Effects / 3D Effects / Drop Shadow
(Un-hide layers)
Step 5
Layer Palette:
Highlight Swing layer
The way you did with the frame, is the way to do the rope
The rope needs to be in front of the text on both ends
Note: Use your deform tool if your Text needs a better fit inside the rope
You can apply more elements after resizing them, add a drop shadow
Layer Palette: Highlight background layer
Selections /Select All / Modify / Select Selection Borders
Settings: Inside (2) Mark (Anti-Alias) Click OK
Activate Tool: Flood Fill
Materials Pallette:
Change the Foreground Color: #ff531a
Flood Fill the Border area *Zoom in so you can see the little specks to fill Selections / Select None
After your done...
Layers / Merge / Merge All (Flatten)
The signature pretty much has a nice look for a avatar
I just cropped it to size and used the same border settings
